Unruly Will

Almighty God, you alone can bring into order the unruly wills and affections of sinners: Grant your people grace to love what you command and desire what you promise; that, among the swift and varied changes of the world, our hearts may surely there be fixed where true joys are to be found; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Prayer of the Saints

"So often our first reaction to muddle is to clear it up, to organize, control, or fix the problem rather than ask what we might learn from the experience. We close our hearts to the distasteful parts of life that challenge us to listen for God's voice, to acknowledge our limitations, and to grow. We lose touch with our deepest heart-life, hardening ourselves against that acknowledgment that God speaks the life-enhancing word that invites change. Hardness of heart is a refusal to listen, an avoidance of obedience."

Comments:
I think you should invite change into your life by getting a haircut. (No, your mother didn't ask me to say this to you.)
