An Easter Prayer

I am fully aware that it is not Easter, however, I wrote this Easter prayer for a worship class and thought that I would share it with y'all.

God, Father of light, we lift up Your name. Let us shout for joy over your might acts. Through Adam, You breathed life into the dust of the earth. Through Abraham, You called us to be a peculiar people sent to be a blessing to all nations. Through Moses, You delivered us from the hands of the Egyptians. Through the cries of the prophets, You have shown us your desire for justice for the sojourner, the widow, and the orphan. And now, through the work of your Son, Jesus Christ, by way of the cross through His glorious resurrection from the dead, You breathe life into us again and deliver us from our inequities and transgressions removing the sting of death and the victory of the grave. Shine this resurrection light over all gathered here today. Just as Christ was sent from the tomb to be at witness to the world, so let us be a witness and voice for those who have no voice. We thank and praise you for this new, everlasting, eternal life in which we may dwell and worship You. Through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit now and forever, Amen.

Comments:
Baby Buckeye is fortunate to have a dad who will write prayers like that one.
